Main Desire picked up where her racing career had left off, as she landed the Listed British Stallion Studs EBF Westow Stakes at York’s May meeting.

The Michael Bell filly had looked very smart when winning at this meeting twelve months ago, but injury had prevented her from running at Royal Ascot and this was her first start in 363 days.

A field of eleven three year olds went to post for this five-furlong race.

As the race got underway, it was Hey Jonesy who broke best, while Declarationofpeace was slow away.

Hey Jonesy continued to set the pace, with Mokaatil challenging, while Main Desire, on the stands rail, came powerfully.

Late on, Main Desire inched in front under Danny Tudhope, just denying Hey Jonesyby a neck, with the same margin back to Roussel, on the far side of the track.
